Hi friends, I'm Sarah - the 'Sass' behind Sassigraphy!

So a little about me; I’ve adored handwriting since I was a little girl and have fond memories of entering the handwriting competition at my local village fete! I didn't get the calligraphy bug until about 5 years ago when I received the most beautiful handwritten wedding envelope in the post and decided then and there that I had to learn how to create lettering like that myself!  I’ve learnt (and practised!) so much since my first class and have had my eyes opened up to a wonderful and incredibly supportive community of creatives and calligraphers along the way. My creative journey has allowed me to indulge in my love of writing, curating, styling and hand making beautiful things.

Originally from Yorkshire, I am now based between London and Kent which satisfies my combined love of city and country life! I am proud of how sassigraphy has evolved from hobby to side hustle to fully-fledged independent business with its own distinct design aesthetic. I endeavour to be as sustainable as possible in my packaging, materials and sourcing; a journey I am constantly trying to improve upon.

For me, calligraphy “sparks joy” in the purest sense; not only is it a mindful practice but the end result is a truly unique and personal piece of artwork that is beautiful to look at and cherish. In a world of mass production and consumerism, handwritten calligraphy can really add that personal touch to elevate your event, gift or greeting.
